Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how RooferTX handles information when you visit roofertx.net, use our roofing tools, or contact us.

Last updated:

Privacy at a glance

RooferTX currently does not use Google Analytics, Google AdSense, or advertising tracking pixels. Our Contact page prepares a draft in Gmail or your chosen email app; it does not automatically send a message. Website hosting and email services can still process technical information needed to provide their services.

1. Who we are

RooferTX provides online roofing calculators and information for project planning. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of roofertx.net, using the RooferTX name, responsible for the personal information handled for this website.

2. Information involved when you use the site

Messages you choose to send

If you email us, we receive your sender address, message, and any information you include, such as your name, a calculator URL, project details, or attachments. Please share only what is needed to explain your enquiry.

Technical website information

Our hosting service, Hostinger, may process technical information such as your IP address, requested page, request time, browser information, and error or security logs. This information supports website delivery, troubleshooting, and protection against misuse.

Calculator inputs

Roofing tools use the measurements, quantities, and rates you enter to calculate results. Avoid entering confidential or identifying information into fields intended for measurements. If you copy results into an email or attach an estimate, the information you share becomes part of that correspondence.

3. Contact form and Gmail drafts

Our Contact page lets you enter your name, email address, topic, an optional page URL, and a message to prepare an email draft.

  • Selecting “Continue to Gmail” passes these details to Gmail in a compose link so that Google can prepare your draft.
  • You may need to sign in to Google. The message is sent from the Gmail account you select, which may differ from the email address typed into the form.
  • You must click Send in Gmail before RooferTX receives your email. Opening the draft alone does not send the message to us.
  • The email app option passes your draft details to your chosen email application instead.

Draft details are included in the link used to open the email service. They may appear in browser history or be processed by that service even if you do not send the email. Do not enter passwords, payment information, or sensitive personal details.

The draft form does not submit its fields to a RooferTX contact-form database. Google's handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy . You can also contact us directly at support@roofertx.net .

4. How and why information is used

We use information to respond to enquiries, investigate reported tool issues, maintain the website, prevent abuse, and meet applicable legal obligations.

Where UK or European data protection law applies, our basis for ordinary support correspondence and website security is our legitimate interest in providing a useful, reliable service, balanced against your rights. Where processing is required by law, we rely on the relevant legal obligation. If we introduce processing that requires consent, we will request it separately.

Sending an enquiry is voluntary. Without enough information to understand and respond to it, we may be unable to help. Using this website is not treated as blanket consent to unrelated processing.

5. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We currently do not use Google Analytics, Google AdSense, or advertising tracking pixels on RooferTX.

WordPress, hosting, or security features may use cookies or similar storage for functions such as authenticated sessions or security. The absence of advertising tools does not mean that no technical information is processed.

You can manage cookies and site storage through your browser settings. Blocking certain storage may affect features that rely on it. If we add analytics, advertising, or other optional tracking, we will update the relevant notices and provide any choice or consent mechanism required before using it.

6. Service providers and external websites

Hosting, email, and technical support providers may handle information as needed to deliver their services. Hostinger provides our website hosting. When you choose Gmail, Google processes information associated with your draft and account under its own terms.

We may disclose information where required by law or where necessary to protect rights, investigate abuse, or respond to a valid legal request. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

International processing

Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where a transfer by us is subject to data protection restrictions, we must use an applicable lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about the providers and transfer arrangements relevant to your data.

External websites have their own privacy practices. Review their policies when you follow a link or use their services.

7. Retention and security

We retain correspondence for as long as needed to address the enquiry, manage related follow-up, and meet applicable legal or dispute-related requirements. The appropriate period depends on the issue, whether it remains active, and whether continued retention is necessary.

Technical logs and backups follow the retention settings and operational requirements of the relevant services. Backup copies may remain until their normal replacement or deletion cycle. You can ask us about the retention of information relating to you.

Access to correspondence should be limited to those who need it for support or administration. No website or email service can guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is unnecessary for your enquiry.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have rights to access your personal information, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, restrict certain processing, or receive a portable copy where applicable. These rights can be subject to legal conditions and exceptions.

Right to object: where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object to the processing of your personal information based on your particular situation.

If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Send requests to support@roofertx.net . We may request proportionate information to confirm your identity and will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Complaints

You can raise a privacy concern with us using the email above. You also have the right to complain to the relevant data protection authority. In the United Kingdom, you can contact the Information Commissioner's Office . Elsewhere, contact your local authority where applicable.

9. Updates and privacy enquiries

We will update this Privacy Policy when our services or information practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Where required, we will provide an additional notice about significant changes.
